Our Workshops will provide students real-time feedback, providing an opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on specific knowledge or skills.

English

  • Identifying and exploring authorial intent

  • Getting comfortable with crafting texts

  • A guide to writing a 10/10 argument analysis

  • How to avoid bad writing habits

10:00am to 11:30am

Biology

  • Understand characteristics of protein and DNA

  • Production of gene to protein

  • Understand and apply gene regulation and manipulation

  • Common SAC and exam style questions

11:30am to 1:00pm

  • Practice SAC and exam questions

  • Calculus techniques

  • Newton’s method

  • Normal distribution

1:00pm to 2:30pm

Maths Methods

General Maths

  • Problem-solving strategies for real-world contexts, including networks and optimisation

  • Interpreting and constructing scatterplots, graphs and trends

  • Preparing for SACs and exams with common question styles

2:30pm to 4:00pm

Chemistry

  • Revision of electrolytic and galvanic cells

  • Revision of changes to vessel

  • Common mistakes

  • Changes to the study design

4:00pm to 5:30pm

The Workshops will be delivered by expert tutors with over 1000+ hours of experience, who are recent high-achieving VCE and IB graduates.

The Workshops will be held in the Majorca Room at the City Library.

Located on 253 Flinders Ln, Melbourne VIC 3000, the City Library is a short walk from Flinders Street Station, with many PTV stops on the way.

 

FAQs

  • Yes! We have limited spots and cannot guarantee places for students that walk in. Sign up now and your spot will be saved!

  • No! The Crash Course is free to any student who wants to attend! There is no hidden fees or obligations.

  • Of course you can! You can attend one or all three sessions. There are allocated half-an-hour breaks in between each session. You can attend any session at no cost!

    Monash University also has food options so you can go grab some lunch as well!

  • Pen and paper will be provided, but make sure to bring a laptop or a devices you want to take real-time notes! CAS or calculator should be brought if you're attending the methods or chemistry sessions.

  • Workshop resources will be uploaded at the end of every session or printed for you to take home!

  • At the City library, there will be signs directed to the room where the Workshops will take place. An email will be sent out to all attendees the day before their Workshop on instructions on how to get to the room.
